Let me ask a clarifying question. Are you thinking of this like "prefilling" the spending number with the "plug" number that zeros everything out? So you can leave it prefilled and things zero out, or you can enter a different spending number and there can be a surplus/deficit? It could function like the attached image where it prefills to the plug, but you click the pencil icon to change it to whatever?
If so, I like that. It can also function as a "what can you spend" number.
Another option is to let it be an empty input like it currently is, but have little button that updates the spending number to be the plug.
I do want to add, from my experience, seeing the inconsistencies (things not adding up to 100%) has opened up some really incredible planning conversations and so many "lightbulb moments" when a client puts in where they think their money is going and it's not even close. So I definitely want to allow the numbers to not equal 100%, but I totally get where you're coming from on making it easy to zero out.

Taylor Stewart Yes, exactly what you said. And I agree...had several of those conversations after the cash flow "Elements" didn't add up to anything close to 100%.
